Are you ready for a [new] website?

We’ve got you covered.

At this hackathon we will create websites for five local non-profit organizations over the course of one day.

What we need from you to be eligible:

• Non-profit status (either 501c3, NYS status, or other evidence that you operate as a charitable organization. (Talk to Michelle Ames if you need clarification.)
• You must purchase your web domain prior to the event. (i.e., your website name, ours here is wprochester.com). (Talk to Michelle Ames if you need assistance with this.)
• You must purchase a hosting plan at a hosting company that supports WordPress. (Talk to Michelle Ames if you need assistance with this.)
• Someone with decision-making abilities regarding your new website must be present for the whole hackathon. Your team will need your guidance throughout the day.
• You will need to have the information regarding how you will collect donations. (I.e., PayPal account information. We will set you up with a donation page using the free Give plugin, connecting with PayPal standard.)
• While you are not asked to contribute as a sponsor for the day, you are welcome to do so. We anticipate a crowd of about 50 people, if you wanted to contribute in another way (maybe cookies or brownies?).
